Franki is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, an activist, and a parent of the next generation of caretakers of our world. Born in Amiskwaciwâskahikan, they continue to live and work here. They completed a Masters degree in counselling psychology through Athabasca University’s Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology in December 2018, specializing in counselling psychology. Recently, they started their own private practice, founded in feminist therapy through an intersectional lens. Their research examines how psychology upholds and reproduces colonial practices both through mainstream therapeutic modalities as well as through education.
