Nicole L. Harrison

The primary researcher, Nicole L. Harrison- born in Edmonton and raised near Athabasca, Alberta- is completing her final course/thesis in the Masters of Education program at Athabasca University with a focus in distance education and instructional design. Her employment with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) Graduate department at Athabasca University is related to her studies in education, Canadian history, and worldwide Indigenous cultures and languages. Her Cree name is wapiskw paskwaw mostos iskwew (white buffalo woman)given to her in a Cree ceremony. Her research interests include: suicide prevention strategies, Indigenous language and cultural revitalization, and Adult education.
